The mission of the Southwest Florida Water Management District (District) is to manage water and related natural resources to ensure their continued availability while maximizing the benefits to the public. Central to the mission is maintaining the balance between the water needs of current and future users while protecting and maintaining water and related natural resources which provide the District with its existing and future water supply.
The Strategic Plan provides a road map for how the District will meet the water resources challenges of west-central Florida by identifying what needs to be accomplished, how the job will be done, and how success will be measured. In addition to identifying the District’s programs, the Plan targets specific priorities in each of the our four planning regions. The Plan will be used by staff to prioritize project funding requests and to provide guidance to our funding partners.
The Plan also highlights the core values that guide day-to-day activities at the District and the core business practices in which the District must excel to achieve its mission.
