During the Chassahowitzka Springs Restoration Project, underwater archaeologists discovered thousands of artifacts that span 10,000 years of Florida’s history. Some of those artifacts can be viewed in our online photo gallery.

Veterans hunt

District Hosts Wounded Veterans

The District recently hosted wounded veterans on its Lake Hancock property for an alligator hunt. The event was facilitated by Operation Outdoor Freedom and the Wounded Warriors Program. Operation Outdoor Freedom is an endeavor that provides recreational opportunities to wounded veterans.

    
Podcasts

New Podcasts Available

Teachers have a new resource. Short podcasts on the topics of the water cycle, wetlands, watersheds, groundwater, water quality and alternative water supply are available for classroom use. Each teacher’s guide contains activities, vocabulary, additional resources and correlations to the Common Core and Next Generation Sunshine State Standards.
